Help: Quick Search and All Indexes Search Results

CLOSE WINDOW | CONTENTS

The results of your Quick Search or All Indexes search are displayed on this Search Results page. A summary of what you searched for is included at the top of the page, along with the number of results which have been retrieved from each content type.

The results page is divided into a section for each content type. Follow the content type links at the top of the page to jump to a list of the first five results for that type.

How do I view results for different content types?

The results page is divided into a section for each content type: Books, Periodicals, Official Publications, Archives, Newspapers and Reference. Follow the content type links at the top of the page to jump to a list of the first five results for that type.

If there are no results for a particular content type its name will not be a link and there will not be a corresponding results section on the Search Results page.

Navigating results

The first five results for each content type are displayed on the page. If there are more than five results, a More ... link will be displayed at the end of the section e.g. More Books ..., More Periodicals .... To view the full list of results for a particular content type follow this link.

You will be taken to a new search results page which displays the first 20 results for that content type, with access to all the results for that type. This page offers all the functions available from a results page after performing an individual index search. Note that the five results from the initial Quick Search or All Indexes search will be the first five results on this new results page.
